My partner has found out he is losing his job in 3 months. He will get a payout equivalent to a year's salary but the job prospects are pretty difficult in the market. I've been feeling for a while that I'm unhappy and evaluating the future. He's a very negative person and I feel like he argues about everything and I don't like how he disciplines our 1 yo dog. I'm now feeling very trapped as I don't want to add the break up on top of redundancy but feel I will be compromising on what I need. Can anyone offer advice on how to approach this? We own a home together so it would make his life difficult trying to get a new mortgage with no job and I feel terrible.
