Summer hol ideas with big age gap kids

Can I ask for your ideas to suit a two year old girl and an eleven year old boy over the hols. Any similar age gaps? What fun activities work best for both of them?

That’s quite hard!

How about a water park with slides for the older one and a toddler section?

Can you take a friend for the older one?

My kids have an 8 year age gap (dd is now nearly 15, ds is 6.5).

Try:

  • swimming pool
  • going to the woods / large outdoor play areas (we have one where you can build dens out of huge sticks, and one playground with a paddling pool/splash area)
  • a picnic and take a football or find some trees to climb - take a friend for older dc to play with
  • Go to a PYO farm
  • local petting zoo or farm
  • the beach

We are lucky have a large soft play that has a kids play village/pedal car area, softplay and a clip-and-climb wall so dd would just go off climbing or help dc2 clamber around the soft play.

Anywhere with animals, anywhere outdoors
Where does the 11 yr old like to go? 2 yr old should be fine to just be with you two.

Surely an AI would work? Watersports for eldest, kids club for little one? Break for you 🍷
