To ask do you believe in the evil eye?

Do you believe in the evil eye? Such as people putting bad energy towards you. I had been reading up on it last year and saw a lot online of people saying they experienced it.

I noticed a couple of things that happened to me. My daughter got into an international sports competition. I posted it on fb, then she was in a freak accident the following day and broke a bone and unable to take part.

When i posted that my young son had done well in his exams that evening he was very ill and had a terrible nose bleed.

All could be coincidental of course but I am superstitious and as a result have become a lot more private and barely posting online.

What do you think?

Never tell people what you are doing or what as they absolutely can use it against you. Energy.

AnnaQuayInTheUk · 19/07/2025 17:50

No.
It's coincidence

RightOnTheEdge · 19/07/2025 17:51

No, absolutely not.

NewLifter · 19/07/2025 17:52

So which of your 'friends' do you think directed the bad energy at your children??

FestivusMiracle · 19/07/2025 17:53

I’ve never heard of it and it sounds completely and utterly nonsensical. 😂

ChaToilLeam · 19/07/2025 17:55

Load of rubbish! Hope you don't tell your kids such nonsense.

Theunamedcat · 19/07/2025 17:57

Got to admit my ex mil used to pray for things to go wrong in my life and they wouod coincide with an extraordinary run of bad luck my ex used to laugh about it until I pointed out it was hurting his children and perhaps the unfeeling grandmother should pack it in? Unless of course he wanted custody of his own children 🙄 he actually argued with her about it too it became an entire dramatic thing with them not speaking to each other

The fun thing was he is the one who vandalise my car repeatedly all he had to do is stop

Not at all. But my dm and my dgm half did. If anyone, including them, praised us too highly, or listed all our wonderful attributes and successes, there'd be a brief pause followed by a list like "Stupid, ugly, smelly, rude". This was to get the evil eye to turn its gaze elsewhere, as it is believed to be attracted by a person's good fortune and success.

I occasionally do it, myself, but it's more from fond memory than from any actual belief. I guess it's also me being aware of and thankful for my children's good fortune.
