Would you see GP over this?

Diet hasn't changed, no stress or anything out of the ordinary. Every night when I go to bed, I have the worst trapped wind. It's like I just can't get it out. It travels up to my chest and I can hear it rumbling around. It's uncomfortable. It's really unusual for me and it's been going on every night for about two weeks.

Would you see GP?

Sounds like reflux. So yes see the GP.

Have you been chewing alot of gum?

OneBlossomBee · 16/07/2025 04:51

Yes, see your gp and according to a search it tends to happen when wind gets trapped your upper abdomen. It could be a variety of things like reflux as one reply said, GERD, a food intolerance etc. You should definitely see your gp though about it to see what is causing it as has been going on for 2 weeks and causing you such discomfort.

Have you been taking anything for it and it hasn't helped?

yeah. My rule of thumb is if something relatively minor lasts for weeks, contact the gp. You have given it enough time to naturally pass so you’re not wasting their time.
