Thinking of selling home

I,ve been in my house for about 18years now. It’s a 5 bed detached . I love my home but not so much the area now.
So I,m thinking about selling to move nearer the kids schools.
Only thing is I might need to private rent for about 12months before I could buy again and free up some equity to clear some debts before I apply for another mortgage.
I,ve got 3 kids (older) who don’t mind but I was just wondering what anyone’s experience of doing this was like ?

Have you taken into account how hard it is to get rental properties at the moment. Also you'll be out of the market for 12 months at least and house prices will continue to rise.

Can you remortgage now to clear/consolidate the debts and then look at moving without renting?

Unfortunately can’t remortgage. I did think about that. Hubby dosent want to sell which is making it even harder 😩
