To find life more tiring now

10 years ago I could work full time, go away for the weekend and still be alive and awake on Monday. Now it takes me a week to get over anything! Am I old ?!?

How old are you? I got more tired when menopausal which I guess is normal.

LongtimelerkerCambridgeshire · 15/07/2025 08:19

I could have written this post. I find I spend much of the weekend resting these days and if I don't I am much less productive the next week at work (which is a problem because I am self employed).

I am 59. I went out for a meal with friends from work on Friday night. Was driving so no drinking. Took me all weekend to recover - actually was still knackered yesterday, but a bit better this morning.

I'm 62 - so ancient by MN standards - and still work full time and go away at weekends and bounce (ish) straight back into work.

Hold old are you OP?

BlondieMuver · 15/07/2025 08:58

Your age is relevant...

Late 30s

Im the same age as you and yes where old and yes i also can barely function anymore. Work kids sleep. The thought of going out late or going out before work the next day would fill me with dread now. I can barely even handle alcohol or late nights anymore.

Surely to god we're not that old ?!?

Absolutely. I have zero interest in dinner reservations which start later than 7pm. Will not go to cinema of an evening unless it’s for a nap. One activity per weekend day (and making a particularly big breakfast is sometimes counted as that ‘activity’). I am TIRED.

Unfortunately we are, where closer to 50 then we are 20 now

Notsurewheretoturn · 16/07/2025 10:45

I'm refusing to say I'm old!!!
