Can I wash this rug?

Hi, im in a rental villa, can I throw this type of rug in the washing machine?
There's no washing label on it.

It looks quite likely to shrink. I might risk it if the washing machine has a cold wash setting and you can turn the spin cycle off.

I’d say so. It’s probably just cotton. Not too hot a wash though!

Anyone else? it's 50/50 atm.

Why do you want to wash it?
It's a super cheap rag rug.

It's a very loose weave, so whilst it's cotton, it may well fall apart or shrink in a machine.

Spot hand washing maybe?

Use a cool wash or hand wash it. The colour might run and it might shrink.

I have similar rugs from the large Swedish place and they go in the washing machine. They're fine.
