What is your aibu?

Are you supposing it was intentional? If so then obviously a bit more than unreasonable. But will never be proven either way.

Why won't they give planning to the old mills? That is the issue. The owners cannot do anything with them and have their £ trapped in a useless asset. We need much better planning departments with some future vision.

Do you read the MIll in Manchester @Icecreamhelps - it offers really good manc based investigative journalsim and their archive would be of interest to you I think

They would get planning permission for conversion to housing or offices. Trouble is they are usually in disrepair, have awkward structures and not economically viable to convert so developers avoid and pursue new builds. Then they get left to rot further, fall into serious disrepair, become dangerous structures and have to be demolished.

There are a few exceptions, Capital and Centric have done some beautiful conversions but they are the exception.
