To ask what to expect?

Hi everyone,

Have an interview this week for a school admin assistant, part time so would be working alongside my other job. I have heaps of experience in customer service & admin, but not worked in a school before.

My interview has a 20 minute task, 45 minute interview then a tour of the school.

I’ve done the usual search online, read some old threads about what to expect, brushed up on safeguarding & the school ethos. But I’m so nervous, this would be a fantastic step for me, so I really want to do my best to get it!

Can anyone give me an idea of the questions you were asked, what the task entailed etc? I want to be as prepared as I can be so grateful for any help or guidance, especially questions I should expect!

Thank you so much x

I would expect STAR interview method. So link any questions to an example & the results.

Safeguarding is a major one, read up on the schools policies and the safeguarding leads. Every interview in a school is about 60% safeguarding.

Many moons ago when I applied for similar the choice was apparently between me and one other candidate - they had direct experience of working with the school's preferred software so got the job. Do you know what they use, SIMS etc? Might help. Safeguarding a biggie.
