Being 37 when this movie launched I was excited to take my son (15 autistic with developmental delay). Rated 12A I wish I'd seen it solo first. Some parts terrified my son and we walked out.

What exactly is your AIBU about?

Lmnop22 · 13/07/2025 16:55

My 5 year old is desperate to watch it 🫣

Obviously I won’t be allowing that but I think it’s probably obvious it’s going to be a bit scary and gruesome in parts, no?

AngryBird6122 · 13/07/2025 16:57

@Lmnop22 if your 5 year old has seen the others they will be fine! The dinosaur at the end is a bit creepy but my dc (older than yours) found it a mix of funny and kind of cute haha!

Ihatelittlefriendsusan · 13/07/2025 16:58

It's no worse than the others to be honest.

I thought the Jurrasic World one was more gruesome

I took my 7 year old. Like others he thought the dinosaur at the end was funny. He’s also not particularly tough.

Had your son seen the others?

What is your AIBU?

@Lmnop22 Nah, I wouldn't take a 5 year old, this one is scarier & a bit more jumpier than the others. I was a bit on edge a few times & I've never been nervous watching the Jurassic series. It's a 12A certified film anyway.

Tacocatgoatcheesepizza · 13/07/2025 17:19

We watched it yesterday. I thought it was no worse than any of the others really. A few jump scares, just like there always are, and of course some people being eaten by dinosaurs.

My 10 year old was fine. I did see some much younger kids in the cinema, maybe 5/6/7 and I do think that’s too young.

Took my 6 year old, he didnt even flinch and we watched it in 3D. He loves dinosaurs though, he is very interested in them and doesnt find them scary. I personally didnt find it as scary as the originals, the big dinosaur at the end wasn't scary as it just looked so fake.
