How much is your gas and electric bills?

We’ve been paying around £79 for our electricity and £16 for gas lately. Obviously it’s cheaper this time of year as we haven’t needed to put the heating on etc.

We live in a two bed and one bathroom house. Two adults and no children. Both at home all day.

I’m not sure if it’s a decent price, or not?

Well our electric bill (no gas) last month was £150 so yours sounds extremely cheap!!

5 bed detached, 3 kids and an electric car which accounts for around £30-40 of that 150.

Is that the cost of the energy you consume or your monthly direct debit?

Summerartwitch · 13/07/2025 14:17

I am with Octopus and gas and electricity come to between £55 - £65 at the moment.

3 bed terrace.

Darkling1 · 13/07/2025 14:18

I forgot to say - we’re in Wales and our provider is Octopus, if that makes a difference?

That seems crazily high unless you're going to tell us you have a heated swimming pool or something!

We have an electric car, do around 1000 miles a month and it costs between £30-40.

Are you on an electric car tariff and is that total your actual usage or just your direct debit?
