Beauty recycling schemes?

I used to use Look Fantastic’s RecycleMe to recycle my empty beauty products.

You used to be able to recycle 5 empty products for a £5 reward (no purchase required), but they’ve altered their T&Cs so you can only have the reward with a £25 purchase. I’ve stopped using it since the T&Cs changed in June.

Are there any good beauty recycling schemes that you’re aware of?

I use the boots recycling scheme but you also need to do a £10 purchase to obtain the reward.

You need to register your empties online, wait for them to be approved. Then when you reach the store, you have to scan the recycling box qr code & then deposit at least 5 empty products in one go. You then get a reward voucher for 500 points (equivalent to £5) that will only be issued with a purchase of min £10 in 48hours. So you have to spend £10 to get £5 worth of points to use at a later date.

My only issue is that it doesn’t accept shampoo or shower gel bottles and I know there are other beauty recycling schemes that do but boots is the most convenient for me.

Thank you! I’ll certainly look into Boots. That scheme is certainly handy if you want to buy something!

I really miss RecycleMe as there was no purchase necessary in order to obtain the reward. I suspect it got popular and it wasn’t sustainable to continue offering the reward in that manner.

You could send your five empties for free through Royal Mail collection. It really was brilliant!
