I am a mess, my hair is just frizz, my face is sweaty and red and my boobs are non stop sweating, same as behind my knees..I do not look good. How do some people look graceful and glowy!

I always look terrible in hot weather. Some people seem to come alive and look cool.

DH is as healthy as a horse, slim and has lovely shiny hair. He is also ginger, like me, and is perpetually sweaty, red, uncomfortable and his curls have turned into a ball of frizz. I don’t think it has anything to do with lifestyle 😂 I’m curvy and don’t worry about fitness or anything and I am sweaty and red- my hair looks nice though.

greyrocksabove · 13/07/2025 13:03

I am healthy and slim but still I look a mess. My hair is naturally curly so needs straightening but trying to do that in this heat is futile, the underneath ends up soaking and frizzy! Even my mascara is melting off my face. Tying my hair up makes it look okay initially but then the frizz starts to ping up!

I'm slim, fit and healthy and I look shit in the heat 🤷‍♀️.

Ginger frizz and paper white skin and freckles tend to do that. Curls tend to dry out in the heat. No glowy tan here, I just seem to get paler with bigger freckles. So ner.

Somethingsnapped · 13/07/2025 13:13

A wet cotton scarf draped around my neck keeps me feeling comfortable once the weather gets over 30 degrees! I don't wear make up on my face in the heat, only a bit of mascara. And I tend to wear my hair up in a bun, which also helps keep me cool. Red hair too, and pale skin, but I don't think you have to have a tan to look nice in hot weather?

longtompot · 13/07/2025 13:33

Talc has helped so much with sweating in all the places. It just makes me feel less sticky and much more comfortable. I bought some baby talc which isn't like the talc of old, so safer to use.

Withdjsns · 13/07/2025 13:39

I rely on large sunglasses a lot but as soon as I take them off I look awful - sweaty etc. I’m slim so it’s not that I’m unhealthy, I just seem to sweat a lot as I’ve gotten older. I also don’t suit having my hair up so maybe it’s people who don’t sweat a lot and look good with their hair up that manage it better….? Also much less sweaty before I had to run after children

ZiggyZowie · 13/07/2025 13:43

Oh I don't care !

Just haven't bothered filling in my eyebrows or putting on lipstick
Lots moisturiser, brushed hair, baggy shorts, loose t shirt, comfy and cool and staying out of the sun

And I don't care I don't have the legs for shorts.

Luluissleeping · 13/07/2025 13:45

I'm sitting indoors with occasional walks round the garden.

imsoverytired82 · 13/07/2025 13:46

See, I kind of think wearing make-up in this heat is just bonkers and must make your skin so uncomfortable.

I'm wearing running shorts and a wicking vest top, no make-up. I'm not hot or sweaty.

CalicoPusscat · 13/07/2025 13:50

I look blotchy and tired with eye bags from tossing and turning in the heat at nights. My mascara runs when I go outside.

Strangely enough my hair has fared better and looks normal.

WaltzingWaters · 13/07/2025 13:52

I feel my absolute best in this weather! Love wearing summer clothes and being out in the sun all day. I never really wear make up - I’d say don’t bother in this heat! I love it and don’t want it to end.
I say all this whilst 20 weeks pregnant too.

the80sweregreat · 13/07/2025 14:57

I never feel entirely well in hot weather , no energy and everything is a chore. I have managed to sleep though , which is a first! Not sure how.

isitmytime · 13/07/2025 15:45

I’m always pretty ugly but heat definitely makes me look worse.
im pale and go blotchy in the sun, I have puffy wavy hair that needs straightening but it just fluffed up in the heat
make up stays on fine though but I just always feel hot/sweaty and ugly roll on autumn and I’ll be ugly from the drizzle and wind but least I’ll be cool

Gatekeeper · 13/07/2025 15:52

Another pale Celt here with curly hair. I feel and look shite. Sweaty and pongy and my feet look like rubber gloves blown up. Greasy , red face and hair gone into a tumbleweed type affair.
Autumn is my time when I gleefully get my cords and jumpers out

Doesn’t it turn into I a paste with sweat?

LlynTegid · 13/07/2025 16:00

A large number of people in the UK, not because of their hair, skin, or how their body looks, but because of their lack of style in how they dress.

JenniferBooth · 13/07/2025 16:05

I live in a SH flat and havent been able to cook for three weeks because of the temps this place gets up to. Im dressing appropriately for the heat at home in just a T shirt and knickers and will continue to do when the HA contractor arrives on Wednesday. so yes i look a mess because i cant live normally in their bloody sauna

TwoFeralKids · 13/07/2025 16:07

Humidity is going to be 90+ %. I can't see anyone being sexy in this heat.

mamaduckbone · 13/07/2025 16:14

I do think you're either a summer person or a winter person. I look so much better in the summer with a little bit of colour, the sun lightens my hair, I seldom get too sweaty...BUT, I look like an ashen faced corpse in the winter. Other people look great wrapped up in cosy layers and classy in winter clothes. Not me!

Gettingbysomehow · 13/07/2025 16:15

Even having lost all the weight I look hot, sweaty and my hair is a mess but then I have been gardening all day. I'm pushing myself I need to regain my muscle strength I'm looking a bit flabby skinned. Gym next.
Got to get cracking but I'm obviously not a very nice person because I'm looking at all the other fat, sweaty men and women in their 60s passing by and thinking thank God that isn't me any more. It was for 30 years.
I'm really enjoying just putting shorts and teashirt on and just going out instead of my old marquee trousers and tops and I am most definitely enjoying summer so much more.

My hair is naturally curly. It has never needed straightening.

LightlyDusted · 13/07/2025 18:37

Why is my face so sweaty? It’s weird, the only time ever it’s happened that there are fat droplets on the top of my lip and my chin. Lovely!
