My sister downloaded hinge as she recently separated from her partner. A guy I dated who regularly flaked on dates (at least 6 and urs im stupid for letting it happen) is now also on hinge.

She said to me maybe we just get our own back and arrange a date and she just never shows up. She’s shown me the convo. It’s nothing interesting. She’s unravelled loads of lies and how he admitted to seeing his ex at the same time as me.

My sister said she’s planning to just set the date up and either let him get there and say sorry I couldn’t make it and see if he rearranged and do the same again. Which I said is too much faff. Then she said maybe she just organises it and flakes right before.

I actually said it’s a bad idea but as I slept with this guy and he essentially lied and was probably sleeping with his ex too she just feels like it may be necessary. I’m kind of against it bc it won’t achieve a thing and I’m over it completely.

Completely pointless and immature. Leave it in the past where it belongs!

Kinda what I said. It achieves nothing and even if he was with his ex at this point none of it matters bc I’m over him.

Your sister has too much time on her hands.

You need to leave the past in the past.

Surely she can find something better to do?

Lmnop22 · 12/07/2025 22:55

Why sink to his level?

Just leave it and move on.

If you weren't entertaining it, starting a thread wouldn't have entered your head.

Annascaul · 12/07/2025 23:00

Bloody hell, op, just move on. You actually let him piss you around by flaking out on dates six times! Find some self respect.

It's definitely not necessary, and in fact completely pointless as he won't know why he's been ghosted and will just think your sister's a random rude flake (and there are no shortage of those on Hinge). You can't stop her from doing it but tell her firmly that you don't want to hear about it, and walk away if she keeps bringing it up.

Does your sister secretly fancy him and want to go on a date with him?
