Have I just passed a polyp? Gross pic attached sorry!

Struggled with heavy periods for years. And very painful cramps. I have what I am sure are two little cervical polyps as I can feel them but this morning I have had pink spotting (not due on for another week) and then I noticed this in my undies! I have enclosed photos, it is soft and squishy and looks like a blood clot but it's on a thin stalk and I am not on my period. I also assume this is why I had the spotting? However I have just had a quick feel and the two polyps that I have had that poke out my cervix are still there... so does this look like another polyp that I was unaware of?

I haven't been to the doctors for about 3 years as I have major phobia of them, but I last had a smear in 2022 and all was fine then. I know people are going to say go to the GP but I am unable to, there is no wiggle room there.
I just would love to see what people on here think, does this look like a typical polyp? Has anyone ever had them fall out on their own before and experienced something like this?

I recently had a polyp removed. It looked a lot fleshier than your pic tbh.

Yes, could well be a polyp.

I don’t think I’d even think twice about it tbh.

EmBear91 · 12/07/2025 16:45

Doesn’t look like a polyp. More like a blood clot or mucous than tissue.

How are you? It could be a polyp, because they are wormy like on a stalk.

I have got one and I’ve been terrified to get it removed. Had spotting this month only a week and half after period and not due till next week. Stressed out worrying. My smear last year was fine.

what’s the latest with you? Are you having the polyps removed or leaving it.

Could it be a decidual cast? Google it for some examples to compare.
