To phone estate agent and ask this

I've seen a house listed for sale online. I'm not interested in the house, but the photos are lovely-all the tables set that kind of thing. I absolutely love their glasses, I think I recognise where the plates are from, but I'm currently updating our home and would love to copy this style. Would I be unreasonable to phone the estate agent to ask the seller for where the glasses and things are from? Do you think they'd be flattered or think I'm a timewaster?

Do a google image search

lifesalive · 10/07/2025 15:24

Of course you are wasting their time. Might as well book a viewing and see if the labels are still on the bottom.

RosesAndHellebores · 10/07/2025 15:24

They'd think you were a timewaster.

IllBeHomeForChristmas · 10/07/2025 19:49

They’d rightly think you’re a time waster!

ObtuseMoose · 10/07/2025 19:51

On today's episode of 'I can't believe you're asking this'...

This.

And don't waste people's time by calling the estate agent for something like this.

BournardTourney · 10/07/2025 19:51

Phone them, the seller might even sell you any items they are not emotionally attached to. The worst they will do is promise to ask the seller and you never hear from them.

Thaawtsom · 10/07/2025 19:53

Third vote for google image search.

Cutleryclaire · 10/07/2025 19:54

I’d be flattered and happy to help.

Arlanymor · 10/07/2025 19:55

Do a reverse image search - their house isn't your Argos catalogue and presumably they are up to their eyeballs with house marketing admin etc. Not fair to waste their time or that of the estate agent - might be different if it was listed as being sold with all contents, but presuming it isn't, so reverse search.

Move22 · 10/07/2025 19:56

Or post it here and ask mn’s

Jc2001 · 10/07/2025 19:56

Share the listing. I'm sure someone on here would be able to find them for you

TokyoSushi · 10/07/2025 19:57

OP!!! You can’t do that! But if you post a pic on here I bet somebody will be able to help!

Good solution.

I did a reverse search on a couple of things in a Mumsnetter's house - she'd put up a link on RightMove and I really liked some of the things she had. Much easier than asking someone else to link to them. The estate agent will think you're a timewaster and won't answer any questions.
