To fit engineered wood flooring ourselves?

Been let down by tradesman to fit our engineered wood flooring and we have a tight deadline as kitchen is going in end of the month. We needed it fitted on 19th. What's the likelihood I will find someone who can do it - very unlikely! Worst case we fit it ourselves, has anyone fit engineered flooring themselves?!

My husband did. Looked shite. Has to be ripped up and done by a professional.

We did it, not hard, take your time though

Lots and lots of YouTube videos showing you how.

One thing I think I've learned with a lot (not all) of trades is you're paying for the speed much less than the skill of the work.

If you're even moderately practical and have the time to research and go at it slowly many of these tasks are completely possible to be DIY'd

It should be fine- what substrate are you laying on?

My husband laid ours all through the downstairs, with no experience. 8 years later it still looks great!

We had a "professional" in to do ours after a water leak. It took them 3 tries. Because they just sucked.

I constantly think I should have done it myself. If you've done a reasonable amount of DIY before I'd agree - go slow and do it yourself.

I'm so anti- hiring people for this sort of stuff based on my experience.

The guy who laid ours did a horrendous job. (So much so we got our money back.). I think you can DIY and get a good finish because you will care.
