To be so wound up by a whistle?

Semi detached. So very close to neighbours. Yesterday new neighbours had a bbq. They started around lunchtime. Usual chatter/laughing noises as well as a kid constantly blowing a whistle. Literally constantly.

In the afternoon I mentioned to my husband that it was really annoying. By 830pm I had a headache and was trying to get the kids to bed. Still bloody blowing the whistle. By this time my blood was boiling. I’m pre menstrual so may be particularly grouchy but it was doing my head in.

9pm I went outside and shouted over the fence, “could you please stop whistling now?”I heard laughter and the whistling continued but more of it. Absolutely livid! I then shouted again, “can you stop please”. And they still didn’t. My final shout was “you’re arseholes” and it did stop.

was I out of order? Im absolutely livid with them still at 8am!!
