Hi. I’m a single parent to 2DDs. this post is about sickness/ vomit.

My 4yo DD was sick in her bed. I took her out, cleaned her up with a flannel and sat on the sofa for a bit. She went back to sleep on me, no temperature. She had not complained of feeling unwell and totally fine at bed. We’ve been to a big family party today so lots of cake. She’s rarely sick.

so after a bit I brought her into my bed with a bucket.

she has since been sick again, over the top of the bucket and in my bed and on me. She’s back snoozing now and we’re on the other side of the bed.

I’ve managed to get her bed stuff in the washing machine and had a quick wash. And seemingly my plan is to just lay here with her in the bed with some sick in it until she’s better and I can put her back in hers and sort mine out. I’ve cleaned it ip as much as I can and put a blanket over it and we are down the other end.

i don’t want to sit in the bathroom with her for hours cos she won’t sleep in there and I feel like her sleeping is good.

But I’m hoping for some mumsnet wisdom as my current plan is gross.

Old towels around you, leave the blanket, tie your hair up. It’s gross but it’ll get you through.

Alternative is camping out on the bedroom floor, but I usually give in after an hour of discomfort and no sleep for sleep back in the bed. Sleep vs gross.

Thanks.

I’d do the same in that situation. I’d let her sleep and deal with the full clean up in the morning. I hope she feels better soon.

I tend to move them to a towel covered sofa with a bucket next to them when they are repeatedly being sick , i don't think i could sleep myself with sick on my duvet so would rather get it cleaned up.
