“Our baby girl, our life and soul, with the biggest smile, the biggest heart - you were the kindest, sweetest, most beautiful baby girl.”

11 years old, look at the turn out for the funeral. I find it really emotional.

Sorry, what’s the issue? Besides a poor 11yr old girl being killed obviously.

I will say though, the “applause” is nothing short of bizarre and frankly, disrespectful. What on earth are they applauding?

Did you know the child, @NoMoreStupidGuys?

The writing is very flowery, like the writer wishes she was writing scripts for Hallmark movies. Is that what's upsetting you?

Arlanymor · 02/07/2025 20:57

Terrible, terrible writing - smacks of AI that hasn't been modified - that offends me in and of itself. Which bit are you objecting to - a specific part or the fact that it was covered as a news item and you found it distressing?

PurpleChrayn · 03/07/2025 05:23

That’s an embarrassingly disrespectful excuse for journalism and whoever wrote it should be thoroughly ashamed.

Very sad event but I’m not sure what is wrong with the report. It seems typical of a local newspaper. While overly flowery it seems respectful.

The writing is appalling but a lot of people now applaud as a sign of respect to the person and to show appreciation of their life. You might not agree with it but it is not a sign of disrespect.
