Cosmetic procedures - what has she had done?

Timetogetgone · 28/06/2025 08:22

Hello.

I was wondering if anyone in the know about cosmetic procedures could help me.

My sister is 41 (relevant). Before now she has never taken any care or interest in her skin care routine and it showed but now she has the skin of a beautiful bouncing baby girl haha

She has said in the past two years she’s had a chin filler, some Botox in her nasolabial folds and a bit of Botox around her face. They made a slight difference and she looked well but it’s VERY evident she’s had something else done recently but she won’t tell me what it is haha

There is no judgement from me, I want it done too because her skin looks incredible. Bouncy, hydrated, smooth, super plump, no visible pores, glowly all the time, it looks incredible. She has said it’s just her new skin routine which I’ve also now purchased (I sound insane haha) but does anyone know what the procedure could be??

I’ve attached a photo of an ‘influencer’ who’s skin is just like hers haha He’s admitted he’s had procedures done but I can’t find out what ones.

Also, this is all very light hearted because I can already feel the judgement haah

TIA

Clear skin but he looks too moist. Not. A good look.

Haha Yeah very moist you’re right but super plump and clear. My skin is most definitely not like this haha but somehow now my sisters is!

You say you have purchased her new skin routine? What is it then?

Sorry, I haven’t, she’s purchased it for me but I know it’s a Korean brand no idea the exact one, but can tell you as soon as it arrives haha

Haha

It could well be a combination of good ingredients - retinoids, vitamin c serum, niacinamide, good moisturiser with peptides, maybe an acid exfoliator etc.

I’ve been using tretinoin for the last few years (I’m 40) and get compliments on my skin.

There’s a few ingredients that really can transform your skin if used consistently. Don’t forget to use decent sunscreen.

Thank you for this! I really appreciate it and will now look into tretenoin!

Profhilo? I’m reading up on this. Interested in any experiences as it sounds wonderful for mid-40’s skin!

goldenretrieverenergy · 28/06/2025 08:42

PRP? hydrafacial?

Good skin care routine wouldn’t show immediate dramatic improvement.

I was thinking skin boosters. I had 2 sessions & my skin looked like this, only for about a week after though. Total rip off.

SoScarletItWas · 28/06/2025 08:47

He’s literally pushing his face up to make his cheek look plumper. And he’s just applied loads of moisturiser so he’s shiny. He won’t look like that an hour later when it’s sunk in.

FeistyFrankie · 28/06/2025 08:47

Are you sure she hasn't just had a top up of filler and botox? That would explain why she's looking so refreshed recently as I think it tends to have that effect immediately afterwards.

I think if she'd had surgery she'd have had recovery time, right? So unless she was mysteriously absent for a week or so, I'd probably rule that out.

Korean skincare is amazing btw

KimberleyClark · 28/06/2025 08:50

One of those LED masks?

Yes he's probably trying to flog some product or "athestician" also there is a filter on .

It will either be skin boosters via micro needling or injecting although you need a good few sessions to see proper results or potentially a chemical peel. Botox and filler with smooth and plump the skin anyway. I’m a big fan of skin boosters via micro needling, I’m pregnant at the moment so obviously have gone the past 7 months without any and can see a real difference in my skin in terms of pores and dullness. I’ve got my first appt booked when baby is 6 weeks and can’t wait 😂 although I must stress, he looks very “fake” too plump and shiny, it gives me a nice glow and less visible pores but to look like the man in your photo, that’s extensive work possibly even a facelift/eyelift too.

Jane958 · 28/06/2025 08:55

Unlikely to be botox in the naso-labial folds, but might be some filler.
Sculptra is another injectable that is like Profilho, but works for far longer.
I am also just hearing about something called Radiesse, which uses a new development to stimulate collagen. Am considering this for my cheeks (but I am nearly 67).
Something like Skin Pen, if you haven't seen her for a while?

Gall10 · 28/06/2025 08:58

Maybe she’s just very happy with life….that takes years off the face.

12345mummy · 28/06/2025 08:59

Lots of cheek filler! Thread face lift? In regards to the glowy it could be anything like microneedling, hydrafacial, dermaplaning or a chemical peel? All would make you look refreshed.
