Weirdest of all weird things

So I am at home, sitting in the kitchen and getting myself prepped for work tomorrow (I'm going to film at a site, I don't usually work weekends, but there is an event tomorrow I need to cover) and was just writing myself a list of things to remember... and I felt a solid pat on the top of my head. I live alone. No one is here or visiting. My hair is messily piled on top of my head, and after the 'pat', some of it has come loose from my hair clip. I didn't imagine it. What is it? I feel weirdly peaceful, like someone has said: "It's all going to be alright Arlanymor." Don't think I am going crazy... or am I?!

Who do you think it was?

smallglassbottle · 27/06/2025 20:50

Is it your hair clip popping open?

MixedBananas · 27/06/2025 20:51

The weight of the hair cause it to shift.

Or you have a portogiest.

Someone on the other side thought you needed the encouragement 💕

I had my hair in bubble braids once, and was out for a walk on a hot day. I kept feeling flicks on my head, and hair was disheveled. Didn't take long to realise the sun was melting the plastic bobbles in my hair causing them to ping.

There's always a logical explanation

Ooh spooky!

Or big spider fell from the ceiling onto your head and then scuttled off?

JamesCricket · 27/06/2025 21:56

Have you left the bath running?

TinyTempest · 27/06/2025 21:58

It was just your hair moving, hence the reason it fell down.

BeachPossum · 27/06/2025 22:04

Most likely your clip slipped and the tug on your hair felt like a pat. Other options in decreasing order of likelihood are that you're exhausted and your brain is playing tricks on you, CO2 leak, you've eaten a hallucinogenic mushroom by mistake and are tripping, or a friendly ghost is reminding you to have a break.

I’ve had that. Felt like I’d been hit in the head.

I was at school once, waiting for a friend to come out of her class and I felt what I can only describe as a ball being kicked up against my leg. I turned and there was no one there and no ball.

I often think about that some 30+ years later, it was so very strange.

elfendom · 27/06/2025 23:18

someone on the other side managed to break through the veil between worlds.

NotPerfectlyAdverage · 27/06/2025 23:24

I heard someone say hello to me as clear as anything one night. All very weird as I was alone in the living room and it was opposite me. Was worried I was developing CJD or something but it's not happened again

Giant moth.
