too many weekends (at work)

dh works weekends

In august there are 5 weekends

He has just been told he is working the 1st, 2nd and 4th

the friday of the 3rd

Bank holiday Monday (the 5th weekend)

To make it really awful my in-laws are threatening a visit in August

I want to emigrate!!!!

Actually I do work weekends in my chosen career. I get paid well for it in the NHs so would not dream of bleating about it on here.

As frustrating as it is, people will be ill no matter what day of the week it is (how thoughtless of them).

if your DHs salary isn't too bad then i wouldn't worry about it
if you think he doesnt earn enough for the effort he;s putting in then suggest he speaks to the powers that be about worklife balance

that is absolutely crap,it means as well that you will have this hanging over you all summer, what crap for you.

The hossy docs i work with are all cheerful chaps, you would not know that they are fed up and doing it cos they have to.

Luckily for me, i can choose if i work weekends...i choose to NOT work many although it is a good boost to my wages ifi do.

What was it? once she discovered his job she has no sympathy because she's decided we're rich w&^%$(s and we deserve it (we're neither!) but lets face it she knows nothing about us or what we do or how we live or anything else. I can sympathise (a bit ) as my DH is going to be away from June 2nd to August 15th. As in away away, not home at all, occasionally incommunicado. He's in the military.

Yes I knew what I was letting myself in for when we met, yes I know it's his job, no he doesn't get paid brilliantly for it, but if I want to whinge I bloody well will.
