To be anxious about her going.?

My DD’s paternal grandparents moved from the UK to Cyprus about 15 years ago. I am separated from her father. He has booked to take her over to Cyprus (she’s 3) for a week next month. She’s been there with him once before and I felt uneasy like any mother but ok.
but now with this war I’m worried. I’ve read people have seen bombs dropping while on flights? And that Cyprus has upped their security level and you can see missiles in the sky from there. I’m just so anxious about her going. AIBU?

Wouldn't his family let you know if it was too dangerous for your daughter to visit?

My daughter was out there last week. She said it was absolutely fine. You could see missiles in the distance but she said it didn’t feel threatening at all.

Depends on the UK’s involvement. If we do get involved then our bases in Cyprus could be a source of retaliation.

Check the foreign office advice OP, I can certainly understand your worries but I think Cyprus is very safe. Obviously if the travel advice changes before their departure, you'd be justified in raising your concern with your ex partner. I'm sure he wouldn't want to put his child in any danger either.

We're in Cyprus at the moment and it's lovely - no sign of any problems, haven't seen any missiles and it feels perfectly safe.
