We were discussing our role being active (nursery) and then she said how many steps she had done already that day. I mentioned I used to work in an office before nursery work and was mainly sat down for the day. (fairly recently). She said ‘’yeah you end up piling it on don’t you’’ She’s not worked in an office before so I feel like she was saying it personally about me. What would you think?

I'd think she simply realises that stationary jobs often cause people to gain weight.

I've never driven a taxi but I imagine if I did, I'd gain weight too.

SpanThatWorld · 21/06/2025 21:40

Yeah, just generic comment filling conversation space

londongirl12 · 21/06/2025 21:42

She’s talking generally, don’t take it personally

PullTheBricksDown · 21/06/2025 21:43

Nope, not about you, just making conversation

HaveCreditWillShop · 21/06/2025 21:47

Yeah that was just her making conversation and wanting to show she agrees with you. When i read posts like this, I realise how I must unintentionally piss people off on the regular!

MaryGreenhill · 21/06/2025 21:48

No l wouldn't take it as personal. She was simply stating a fact .

Hankunamatata · 21/06/2025 21:51

No it wasnt personal. She was agreeing that when you sit down and don't move much people put weight on.
Totally a harmless comment

DontTouchRoach · 22/06/2025 09:56

Not personal! It’s just a statement of fact and not about you.

BitOutOfPractice · 22/06/2025 09:58

She means “you” in the general sense meaning everyone (including herself) not “you” to mean you specifically. You’re being touchy.

Pearlz · 22/06/2025 21:18

I think it was a clumsy comment that sounded bad but not meant in that way!
