Car wash etiquette

Who's right here?

Person A parks up, buys ticket, then enters car wash queue.

Person B enters car wash queue then leaves car to buy ticket.

I am person A, resulting in me being behind the queue of person B even though I had a ticket and they didn't. I don't think that's 'fair'. Person B seemed to think that the queue is at the car wash and it's fine to do what they did.

Would genuinely like to know if I'm being a dick? It's not the first time it's happened. Car wash is very popular.

I would do what B does. Makes sense. You get in the queue then buy your ticket.

Person B is far more efficient!

Naturally I do A as I would hate to hold a queue up getting my ticket.
But B is definitely far more efficient if there is a queueing system.

I do b but where I usually go there's only 2 spaces for parking, doing a would mean blocking those for people who want to only use the shop.

Omg...I see car wash empty. Happy days!! Run in to buy ticket and drive around and all of a sudden 4 cars in front. Every.Time.!!

B is fine

Assume you can't buy often you can queue and then pay by card at the beginning of the car wash

You're not being a dick, you're just not efficient. B isn't being a dick either.

It seems so far I'm in the minority!! Food for thought.

My particular gripe today was that I could not enter the empty car wash because I had an empty car parked up in front of me.

Caveat I’ve never actually been in a car wash but…

I would automatically have down what you did but I actually think car B has the right idea!

Option A all day long.

If you do B, half the time the carwash queue moves faster than a person can go and buy a ticket, so people who have paid are sat waiting for some dickhead to fanny around buying their code etc in the shop.
