I know several people who all have something atm or have had in the last few weeks. I started with it on Monday and I am really dizzy, have earache, the usual cold symptoms but 10x worse and it feels on my chest too. I don’t usually get colds but I swear my last one I could function better than this on. I am absolutely wiped!

Covid again?

XenoBitch · 18/06/2025 18:56

Yes, my parents have something at the moment. DM says it has made her nostrils feel really dry and sore. She sounds rough too.

I think there is another Covid variant doing the rounds but I don't know anyone who tests anymore. It is Lemsip and getting on as usual for many.

Merryoldgoat · 18/06/2025 18:57

Yup. It’s absolutely vile. My son and I are recovering from it.

MyFavouritePlace · 18/06/2025 18:57

I've had something for over a week now. Started with a cough last week Monay, I was getting better and then bam full on cold symptoms and generally feel crap since Friday. Still coughing but slowly improving.
Might be covid but I've not tested.

PauliesWalnuts · 18/06/2025 18:58

Boss’s wife tested positive for Covid this morning so it’s definitely around.

caringcarer · 18/06/2025 18:59

DH and I have both had some kind of nasty virus. Constant cough, high temperature, sore throat, headache and I struggled with breathing as asthmatic. 2 1/2 weeks later we still have remnants of it on our chest.

Goody2ShoesAndTheFilthyBeast · 18/06/2025 19:02

If it's the one where it feels like your chest is being crushed. You're sweaty and clammy, your throat is rough as hell and somehow water vanishes before going down because it doesn't matter how much you drink, your throat feels dry and swallowing feels like you're opening and closing velcro. Plus diarrhoea, headache, pain everywhere and feeling so heavy and beyond exhausted then my son tested positive for covid with that.

Sounds like me at the moment.

manchestermaggie · 18/06/2025 19:23

I had the same symptoms about a month ago.

I tested myself for Covid and it was negative.

It was nasty and put me in bed for the first 3 days with headache, cough, sore throat and general malaise. It was 10 days before I was really better.

Redheadedstepchild · 18/06/2025 19:29

Funny thing is though, I'm not even in the UK. I live in the Med. Maybe it's Europe wide.

Dangermoo · 18/06/2025 20:03

I've just tested bloody positive for covid again. Second day of a cold, cough and aches.

BobbleHatsRule · 18/06/2025 20:14

4 people near me all with covid

JTA1972 · 05/07/2025 08:14

Hows everyone doing with this virus? I can’t seem to shake it, dry sore throat still, fatigued and fuzzy head !. Its been 3 1/2 weeks now

JMSA · 05/07/2025 09:55

I have it. It actually started while I was in holiday in Spain, but I’m back home now. Latest symptom - in addition to the ones mentioned but thankfully no diarrhoea - is yellow gunk coming out of my eyes.

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 05/07/2025 14:15

Around 3 weeks I started to feel better. The tiredness and dizziness was horrible though.

mine was Covid

Iloveeverycat · 05/07/2025 15:02

Probably covid my DH has it at the moment tested yesterday. Bad cough, headache, aching, shivering, very tired.

Millers5star · 05/07/2025 15:29

This new strain of covid is really nasty and very debilitating. I had to go out and buy tests because 2 family members were really ill and another family member is already unwell with underlying conditions and we needed to know what we were dealing with. Both tested positive and were poorly for about 3 weeks.

Conjunctivitis is one of the symptoms of this strain of COVID, according to one of our GPs

Redheadedstepchild · 05/07/2025 22:53

I got over mine quite quickly but I took almost industrial quantities of vitamin c. Every medical authority will tell you that it doesn't work, is an old wives' tale etc and maybe it was just a placebo effect but heigh-ho

Thanks but I took a test last night and it was negative.

x2boys · 06/07/2025 08:53

Apparently there is a new dominant strain of covid that the WHO are keeping an eye on.

CreationNat1on · 06/07/2025 09:20

I had it 1 month ago, brought on a period too. V painful throat, head pounding. Sinuses swollen. Armpits sore.

MistressoftheDarkSide · 06/07/2025 09:22

Oh hello.

Currently on day 2 of WTAF - had a long busy week including a funeral on Thursday. Yesterday morning the friend that I went with told me she'd tested positive for Covid, at which point I thought i was OK and the aches, pains and tiredness were due to an 8 hour round trip on Friday collecting late DMILs stuff from care home, then emotional visit to FIL and his second wife. (My DP died 3.5 years ago).

Dozed off again, woke up to answer a phone call, had a coughing fit and suddenly my throat and chest are on fire, my head is pounding, I'm weak as a kitten and temperature regulation is even more impossible than usual.

Haven't got any tests, have given the PILs a heads up as of course they're elderly and vulnerable.

It was the speed it came on with that shocked me tbh.

Urgh. Could really do without this x

Solidarity to everyone suffering xxx
