NHS Fast Tracked - Appointment in 3 Days

FastTracked · 18/06/2025 17:00

Should I be worried that I have been given hospital appointments with only 3 days notice? I thought people waited months/years for appointments.

I saw a nurse cardiologist as I have had three ‘very strange’ ECGs and suddenly I’m being booked in for what seems like urgent appointment’s with a cardiologist and for further testing.
I am having an echocardiogram, Holter monitoring, seeing a consultant and I have been told I will have genetic testing.

I am young, healthy and it has been picked up by accident so am I being unreasonable to panic that it’s all happening so fast or is it normal for them to move quickly?

I'd just be grateful tbh!! Try not to panic and fingers crossed it's all sorted quickly.

That's good they're moving quickly, be reassured.

I've had some very quick appointments under the 2 week wait/cancer referral pathway recently. The first appointment was the day after the hospital received the referral, first thing in the morning!

I think the NHS is trying to get on the front foot with urgent cases, after all the post COVID delays.

I hope the cardiac issues are minor.

Where I live, medical facilities seem to be under used, and rapid appointments are the norm. Jist be glad that you're getting checked out quickly 🙂

Honestly I wouldn't panic, it could be that your "strange" results whilst not 'right' also aren't actually correlating with a specific thing being wrong, hence some further general tests to see if there is actually something or if that's just how you are.

I don't think a cardiologist appointment makes for a good couples city break 😅
