To ask if Cook veggie meals are nice?

My best friend has just had a baby and I want to get her something like Cook vouchers. She is veggie and I don't want her to have poor choice/variety to choose from. If you are veggie do you like the Cook meals?

Yes..the veggie lasagne is lovely.

Bodonka · 15/06/2025 18:07

Adore them - did when I was fully veggie and still opt for the veggie options now.

Lovely meals - we did a COOK Christmas lunch one year.

walkingmycatnameddog · 15/06/2025 18:09

That would be a great gift, the veggie and vegan meals are good. A kind gesture

MakingPlans2025 · 15/06/2025 18:32

Yeah they are amazing esp the veg lasagne and the lentil moussaka

NevilleBigBottom · 15/06/2025 18:52

Great I'll get a voucher

Another vote for the veggie lasagna and moussaka. Mushroom risotto also v gd! They also do lovely pots of sauces for pasta - a spinachy one and roasted veg sauce.

SherbertLemons · 15/06/2025 19:03

As PP said their vegetarian lasagna is amazing

Itsjustnotthevibe · 15/06/2025 19:04

As above the lasagne is so nice! I would have been chuffed to have cook vouchers after I had given birth.

MrsKeats · 15/06/2025 19:25

Love them,

Agree - these are the nicest. Nothing wrong with the other meals but these two stand out.

Gave my daughter a voucher and she said the veggie meals are great.

Latenightreader · 15/06/2025 20:42

I love the curries, but I don't think I've had a bad Cook meal.

My one proviso is does she have a store near her? Vouchers can't be used in garden centres/shops that just have a Cook freezer. I was given a voucher but panicked a bit about freezer space if I ordered for delivery (there was a minimum), and the nearest shop was 40 minutes drive away so I didn't use the voucher for some time. When I did it was fantastic, just not at the time it was intended to be used.

AhTheFuckening · 15/06/2025 20:42

Mmm, this has just reminded that I've got a Cook veggie lasagne in the freezer.

NevilleBigBottom · 15/06/2025 20:48

Good call, just checked and they have a shop 15 mins away.

Yes! I had a selection box as my maternity leave present from work, I’m not veggie but there were a few in there and the veggie lasagne was the best one!

The portobello mushroom wellington is extra good. It's our Christmas choice for veggie family members, I buy it early so they don't run out.
