Are some jobs are bull****

Lighthearted.

A graph has been shared on a professional FB page. It shows the numbers of responses by profession to the question “is your job bull (being defined as pointless or with little value to society).

On one end of the spectrum there are less than 5% of nurses, drs, midwives, teachers and psychologists who think that their job is BS. At the other end there are over 35% of bankers, IT, sales, advertising and PR workers who think their job is.

I’m in a split role. Half my week is face to face with ‘clients’ and is absolutely not BS- 100% high value to society. The other half is in a management role and is probably about 50% skill/knowledge 50% BS.

How do you feel about your job.

Mine is definitely not BS, everything I do has a result you can see and feel.

My last job was complete BS and the employer didn't need the role, they just thought they did. My current job is at least of some value to my employer but I still class it as about 50% BS. I've just interviewed for a job that will mean actually making a difference to people's lives. Fingers crossed.
