Are slightly pink in the middle beef meatballs!

I’m panicking.
Made dinner tonight. Meatballs and pasta.
I ate the first couple then cut into one and realised it was pink in the middle. Cut open another and it was the same.
They were beef, so not pork or chicken. However I know ground beef shouldn’t be eaten pink, unlike steak.

I had already eaten 3 of them before I realised.
Luckily our son had something else!

Am I likely to get ill?

You'll probably be fine, you will know soon enough. I always cut one in half to check before serving as you can't really tell from the outside.

The lovers of Steak Tartar would disagree … beef can be eaten raw. You can even get Burgers pink in the middle.

Should be fine, might even taste better

Pinkness isn’t doesn’t really mean all that much when it comes to safety….it’s internal temperature that’s important. Fancy burger restaurants often ask how you’d like your burger cooked and they can be served pink inside.
According to google, ground beef should be a minimum internal temperature of 71.1°C to be considered safe.
Invest in a meat thermometer and give it a poke next time you make meatballs?

Thanks all.

How long until symptoms could potentially show up?
