Within say a month? I’m receiving dental treatment so need to go several times to the dentist…
or should I take a day off (holiday)

Can you explain to you workplace what is happening? I would say if you just keep having appointments they might get fed up or worry about your longer term attendance record. If they know it's just that you need some treatment that happens to need frequent visits for a short period, but it will go back to normal soon, they should be fine.

It would be normal to arrange them to be early/late appointments to minimise disruption during the working day and make time up. If you need anaesthetic or a lengthy appointment maybe book day off.

I would be expected to swap my shift or have an appointment on a day off. I had an appointment with the breast cancer clinic and had to find someone to swap with so I could attend.
