To be scared to fly tomorrow

I have just got my period today and am peri menopausal too! I’m flying to Europe tomorrow (only a two hour flight) but suddenly feel really anxious and catastrophising about everything. I think it’s because I’m so looking forward to holiday with my family I’m looking for things to worry about! Hate my brain sometimes!

I’m always the same when I fly op. I just try to accept it now and usually once I’m on my way the feelings do all settle, I think the anticipation can be the worst part.

Try and focus on your end goal, getting to your destination and having a lovely time with your family (brains are bloody stupid things sometimes) 🙄

Thank you @500mileslong I posted on another thread about my ocd and just over thinking everything and worrying I’ve packed something prohibited like a lighter or aerosols accidentally! I’ve checked the backs multiple times but just a constant fear something might happen! I think it’s since having DD it feels so much worse xxx

Can you get yourself some Rescue Remedy? I hate flying and always have a bottle of rescue remedy on me and have a few doses to get me through the flight. Don't know if it's the placebo effect but it helps me. You can also download Calm App on your phone and do some breathing exercises/meditation while on the flight. Try and distract yourself from catastrophising - flying is incredibly safe and the chances of anything bad happening are infinitesimally tiny.
