My daughter (15) is having some really tough best friend problems right now. If i’m honest both girls are quite self absorbed but now it’s effecting more than just them. (Family Friends) I always thought the general rule was don’t interfere in teenage friendships but the other mom is very heavily invested and making matters much worse.

I’d try to stay out of it as much as possible. One day teenagers are enemies, next day best friends. It’s very difficult as a parent to work out what’ll happen next.

I would stay out of it, except for being a sympathetic listening ear for your DD. What is the other mother doing?

She is replying to messages to my DD on behalf of her daughter, accusing her of being a bad friend. My DD has made other friends including some boys and they don’t like it. Very high school stuff but it’s causing problems between other family members due to the mother’s involvement. So far I have stayed out of it but there is only so much I can watch an adult badmouth my kid.
