Hello. Anyone give insight?

My last period was 30/04/25 and my cycles are between 28/30 days

Had unprotected sex on 16/05 and 23/05
Now for the weird bit, my period was due 30/05 but I had a weird bleed, just 3 days of wiping brown blood, nothing on a pad, and cramping. I’ve had no breast tenderness or fatigue, however I do need a wee abit more often.

I took 2 pregnancy tests, just the standard cheap ones on 30/05 and 31/05 during this weird bleeding and they were both negative.

Havent had my usual post period symptoms and I have started feeling abit gaggy so I have taken a clearblue today and got a result of “Pregnant 2-3”

Im really damn confused, 1) because the 2 tests I took 5 days ago were clear negatives and 2) this weird bleeding I had was right on my period. I’ve also had some faint cramping around my pelvic area, kind of like period pain but very very light

I’ve never had this with my first, had a full missed period and sickness, hence why I’m abit puzzled. I also didn’t find out with my first until 8-9 weeks.

Sorry this is so long! Just trying to work out how far gone I am…if I’m pregnant at all!

You're probably pregnant from 16th May. The second unprotected sex wouldn't give enough time for a decent luteal phase should you have ovulated late.

Thank you. I sound bloody thick but again this is new to me! I don’t get how I tested negative twice on Thursday/Friday either. With DD I had clear symptoms and all tests were positive

I am currently pregnant (still early days) but I had the same as you - initially had a brown bleed at the time my period was due so assumed it was just my period starting, about 5 days later it still hadn't properly started so ended up taking a pregnancy test and it was positive!

I had some slight red bleeding the next day so went to the drs and they said it was nothing to worry about and to just take it easy. Like you I don't remember having anything like this with my first.

I had the weird red bleed to! Just once and I actually thought it was my period finally ramping up.

Sounds like an implantation bleed. I had that with my first pregnancy.

Does an implantation bleed occur when your period is due?

Not to alarm you but those are the exact symptoms I had with my ectopic - weirdly brown blood for three days, no proper period, negative pregnancy test but a positive one a couple of weeks later and the weird cramping. Keep a close eye on any cramping pains and maybe see the GP just in case.

Different test brands may detect HCG at different levels, some more sensitive earlier than others, also the time of day you did it and how dilute your urine was would affect HCG levels in your sample. Then, some people don't test positive at all until their period is at least a few days late.
