Shared Parental Leave confusion (teaching)

DianaDee97 · 02/06/2025 18:29

I am currently on maternity leave and have been since end of January (gave birth to daughter mid Feb). This month has been my last good pay and from the next I am on SMP only 🫣. I would really like to apply for Shared Parental Leave (I'll check my schools policy tomorrow) but have no clue how best to do the blocks - maternity leave ends on 12 January 2026.

Please help!

This website is great, they can help and work with you directly to arrange all the paperwork. Highly recommended and worth every penny to make sure it was right. They supported me with communication with my school too. Good luck with it.

Ideally you want to do your blocks as summer, October half term and Christmas so you get the most amount of weeks. My baby was also Feb so I had those as my blocks
