AIBU to be suspicious?

We live in a cul-de-sac. Just had someone knock on our front door asking if the campervan is for sale. It's not (just spent £500 on getting it through the MOT for another year!), and there's no sign to suggest it is. I didn't recognise the man at the door nor his vehicle so he's not just passing. Could be visiting a neighbour I suppose.

Am I being unreasonable/ridiculous to be deeply suspicious of his motives...?

I've seen notes left on campervans before asking if they are for sale. This just feels like a more direct approach.

I wouldn't worry i had someone knock on the door asking about car. Nothing happened from it, people just think they can get a good deal if it's something you just want to get rid off so worth a try

Yes, the naive part of me wants to believe this is the case, and it's probably the more realistic answer. But there's still the nagging suspicion...

I doubt it was anything nefarious, seems like someone took a shine to it.

If you’re worried can you block it in with another vehicle for a little while. Or put a steering lock on it?

Round here there have been reports of this happening with very suspicious motives. You do hear of vans being nicked and other things which are spotted as the people come to the door ostensibly asking a question about the van, I’d keep an eye out, maybe ask your neighbours if they’ve also been approached.
