My charge 4 has just broken and I need a new one. Would prefer not to spend too much but wondered what everyone has and recommends? I’ve looked at the charge 6 but seems like a lot for mixed reviews. (£118)

def wouldn’t spend more than that and would ideally prefer less. Needs to work with an iPhone.

thanks

I went from fitbit charge (last one was a 3 which was cheap as chips but I fancied a change...) to Garmin vivosmart (which I am happy with, but it doesn't email me when battery is running low...)

August will be a cheap time to get 2nd hand fitness watches on eBay.

The huawei looks really big on the wrist especially compared to the charge 4. Do you get used to it? Looks great but think I need something smaller.

I've used Fitbit for 10 years but this is my last one. Since google took over its rapidly gone downhill. Read the reviews about the App.

Seriously OP don't get a Fitbit.

This is like when they discontinued Google play music and tried to force us to go over to youtube music.
I went to Spotify on principle.

gamerchick · 02/06/2025 22:19

This is my last one as well. I've loved the charge 5. I've had it for a decent chunk of time and the battery is still as good as when I got it (although I've said that now so....)

Google can get fucked though. I will not be forced to accept their crap. The changes to the APP are utterly crap. It's like it's going backwards to basic functions.

I will look at a garmin but guessing they are more expensive so may be out of my budget.

Buy a 2nd hand one on back market?

TwoBakedOnes · 02/06/2025 22:25

I've had quite a few different ones - 100% would avoid Fitbit, their quality and accuracy is awful.

Garmin are better by a long way, I'd get the best Garmin model you can afford.

BlooBear · 02/06/2025 22:26

I’ve got an Inspire 3, and it’s fine.
When did Google take over Fitbit?
(ed, just Googled - ha - and seen it was 2021, wow!)

Honestly I really would recommend an Apple Watch. My first one lasted 6 years, I have a new one now and 2 years in not a single fault. I only have the basic models. They are around £220 but you could look at 0% finance/adding on to a phone contract?

Pinkflower100 · 03/06/2025 20:00

I don’t think I can stretch to an Apple Watch. Which model do you have? I think I’m going to look closer at the Huawei but just not sure if the screen is too big

I only have the SE. I have had other watches previously but I can honestly say nothing has compared.

I got the inspire 2 and it does the job

JustPaintedMyRoomGreen · 04/06/2025 17:52

I agree with other posters about fitbit going downhill, but I also struggle with the price of alternatives. My solution was to buy a refurbished one from Ebay - I bought just the 'watch face', then a cheap strap from amazon. I have my old charger so didn't need a new one of them.
It cost a fraction of the price and works great. Wouldn't buy new again.
Hope this helps

I got the Fitbit luxe but it became unusable just as it went out of warranty. It just won’t sync anymore.
