To worry about my LO’s eyebrows

Are my LO’s eyebrows too bushy? I started worrying about potential issues (such as genetic diseases). He’s only three months old.

To worry about my LO’s eyebrows

They're lovely eyebrows! Are you worried that they may be a symptom of an underlying problem?

Pandasandelephants · 01/06/2025 11:29

Sorry, but this isn't normal (the worry I mean, the eyebrows are lovely). Is this a worry which happens in isolation or do you worry excessively about other things too?

ShoudlStayOffDrGoogle · 01/06/2025 11:30

I do. I’d come across SanFilippo Syndrome and I know symptoms aren’t obvious until much later on.

Do you have health anxiety?
Ive never even heard of this disease...

His eyebrows look perfectly normal /pretty similar to my sons tbh!

SummertimeFeelingFine · 01/06/2025 11:32

They're normal and I think you might need to address your anxiety. 💐

Snakeandladder · 01/06/2025 11:33

Ah I remember the frantic googling of early motherhood well.

Nothing wrong with the eyebrows. Does DH or your parents have eyebrows like this? My ds inherited his great granddad's roger moore style eyebrow raise.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 01/06/2025 11:33

Yes it’s not normal but as someone with anxiety I know that this kind of reassurance won’t help you.

ShoudlStayOffDrGoogle · 01/06/2025 11:34

Thank you - I will speak to the GP regarding my anxiety, I know it’s an issue. I was hoping it wouldn’t manifest second time around though now I find myself comparing the LO to our first born. Thank you all!

What genetic diseases present with bushy eyebrows?

Thedogscollar · 01/06/2025 11:36

In answer to your user name, yes you should.
From what I can see your baby is beautiful with very normal eyebrows.
Enjoy this time without worrying over something that doesn't exist.
As pp has commented maybe look at why you are so anxious re health matters.

They will be different. My two have wildly different physical traits but both traceable if you look around the family tree.

ThreePointOneFourOneFiveNine · 01/06/2025 11:42

Nothing unusual at all about your baby’s eyebrows that I can see. It sounds like you’re recognising that you have anxiety, and acknowledging the problem is the first step to getting better. MN AIBU can be harsh so maybe not the best place to seek support. Though if you begin any such posts with an explanation that you are experiencing anxiety I think people will be a lot kinder. Your baby’s eyebrows look perfect and adorable to me.

Endofyear · 01/06/2025 12:26

Your baby's eyebrows are perfectly normal! Please get some help with your anxiety OP 💐

ninjahamster · 01/06/2025 12:27

Oh bless him, totally normal eyebrows!

Seventree · 01/06/2025 12:29

I was convinced that my second baby had a funny shaped head that was a sign of an underlying issue... asked every healthcare professional we saw what they thought. He was fine, but I understand the new mum worry!

I'll give you the same advice my midwife gave me. Stay off google and enjoy your perfect baby Flowers

GetOffTheCounter · 01/06/2025 12:30

Oh my heart! What an adorable little baby!!!

His eyebrows look perfectly normal. Like my son also who has inherited my very dark hair and dark eyebrows right down to a little tufty bit that is the twin of mine.

Skulling · 01/06/2025 12:30

Enjoy your beautiful, totally normal-eyebrowed baby and visit the GP if the anxiety is becoming an issue (which is very common and nothing to be ashamed of) 💐

What genetic diseases present with bushy eyebrows?

The one she named is one. Sanfilippo Syndrome. There may well be others.

Words · 01/06/2025 12:37

Well they aren't on the Bryan Kohberger or Nigel Lawson scale so I think you can stop worrying.

I am not an expert on human puppies but it looks perfectly normal to me.

Have you any massive worries you can't confront? This could be displacement.

HangryLikeTheHulk · 01/06/2025 12:38

Beautiful baby, beautiful eyebrows, congratulations. Don’t worry.
