To stop getting neighbours parcels & bins?

Our neighbour used to say “hello” and smile at us but now she just ignores us.

The only reason I can think of is that we have catproofed our garden to prevent her cats from roaming.

I used to get her bin when I got mine and I would also take delivery of her parcels as she would be at work.

I have stopped getting her bins now but she still gets her parcels delivered here but I refuse the delivery as she isn’t friendly to us at all.

My other neighbour who is lovely mentioned that the same neighbour also ignores her when she says hello and to not take offence, but AIBU to refuse her parcels?

Nbu, if she can’t even manage a smile and a thank you then keep rejecting them.

Reject reject reject

When you take in her parcels, she collects them from you without saying hello and thank you?

MathsMagpie · 31/05/2025 16:39

Odd - how does she retrieve her parcels from you when you take them in? Do you drop them off or does she come and get them? Does she speak to you then?

I wouldn't start a petty war with neighbours they can make your life hell if they want to, it's just not worth it

She used to say hello and thank you before.
There has been quite a few issues with her and her children.

I think she was offended that I stopped throwing back the football over the fence as soon as her kids did my door.
She knows I will ignore her kids now when they do this as it’s multiple times a day.

She was annoyed that I fenced my driveway to prevent her kids keep playing on my driveway.

She will come now and grab the parcel and go hence why we have stopped accepting them.

But she does this to my other neighbour as well who also refuses to open the door to her kids when they want their ball back.

Sounds like she is an arse to all and should not be facilitated by anyone anymore.

Keep declining the parcels. And tell the nice neighbour you’re no longer accepting the parcels, maybe she will stop too?

@nomas
Yes I agree, we didn’t want to fall out and remain friendly.
