Offended on behalf of MIL

It’s really none of my business and I am probably BU but…

MIL has recently been coming to visit her two sons in the UK once a month ish. She is temporarily staying in Europe but normally lives in Central America so she doesn’t see them too often.

she has been staying with BIL for a few days during the week and then comes to us for the weekend. I just heard from DH that BIL asked her to leave the house for a bit yesterday so his new girlfriend could come round. I think this is pretty shitty, he lives in a bit of a rough neighbourhood too so not ideal for a woman approaching 70 whose English is not brilliant!! Not sure how long she was asked to go for but prob a couple of hours.

understand he wants to see GF but go to her place surely, don’t turf your mother out onto the street??

I wouldn’t waste time get offended on behalf of people who weren’t offended themselves!

Whose idea was it that she comes and stays? I don't think that she gets to rock up and your BIL puts his sex life on hold. If she travels around Europe, she could have got a taxi to a train station and went out for the day.

Very rude and inconsiderate. He could meet the GF elsewhere.

what language does she speak??

How is this relevant?!

he didn’t have to put anything on hold, they could have gone to the gfs. She lives alone in a nice flat apparently so unless there was a reason they couldn’t go there I don’t get it. She’d only arrived afternoon of the day before. Think I’d feel pretty upset if either of mine did this to me! I’d be happy to sit on my own reading/watching tv or whatever while he went out but to be asked to go and walk the streets is a bit beyond

Poor MIL! That's a rotten way to treat any guest, let alone his own mother.

What a couple of idiots to be honest
shame on them .. she’s obviously cramping their “style “ cough
