Given my dog meloxicam

I am currently 28 weeks pregnant. My dog has just had an operation and requires meloxicam once a day. I did ask my partner to ask the vet yesterday while I was at work if this was okay for me to give but he didn’t ask. I know meloxicam can be dangerous is I take it while pregnant, however does anyone know if I’m fine to give it to my dog?
I have given it this evening, wore gloves and washed my hands straight away. However I don’t have anyone to give it the next 2 days and he needs it for the pain.
will I be okay if I am wearing gloves and washing hands straight after? Probably being completely unreasonable but I worry about medications in pregnancy and due to bank holiday I cannot contact the vets (don’t think it warrants calling out of hours)
thanks x

No harm done. At all.

It’ll be fine, OP. Hope all goes well with you and the dog.

It's the same as giving ibuprofen to a child... No risk. I don't really know how anyone ever survives pregnancy with all these worries!!!

I gave loxcom all day long (probably 20 times a day!) with all of my pregnancies. No harm done.

It’s an anti inflammatory and whilst those aren’t recommended past a certain point in pregnancy you haven’t taken it? You have administered it, I assume as a liquid, via syringe, whilst wearing gloves? You have absorbed precisely none, there is no risk.

That’s really reassuring to hear! Do you work with animals? I didn’t see anything in the leaflet to say I couldn’t give it but just always have a stress about these things!

It's just an anti inflammatory, not nuclear waste.

You've administered it, not taken it.

i wouldn't have even thought about gloves.

you'll be just fine!

I’m a vet, it’s absolutely fine! 38 weeks myself tomorrow and don’t even put gloves on to handle it myself. But I would for anti-parasiticides, steroids etc.

Thank you so much! I’m guessing he’s okay to stroke straight after too since it’s oral liquid?
I know I worry for nothing😂
