Anyone else been (unasked for) added to infinite scroll?

I have my MN set to “25 replies per page” so I can easily navigate through threads.

Been working fine this morning … however this has now changed, so all the replies are on one page - so you have to scroll, and scroll, and scroll to get to the end.

Anyone else ? It’s hideous

I also didn’t ask for a poll … but it gave me one anyway - I’m getting all the luck today !

There’s a message in site stuff about this, I’ll see if I can dig it out. I used it to ask to be removed from this pilot and am now back to pages, which is perfect. One sec and I’ll see if I can find it for you.

Yes me also, apparently a thread in site stuff you can ask to be removed from it I’ve had no luck yet it’s so annoying.

Tagyoureit · 25/05/2025 10:09

Yes, it's changed recently and it's definitely hard to navigate through threads.

But the weird thing is, on some threads, I see pages and some others threads, it's just one long thread.

I'm viewing it on my phone browser, I don't want to download the app as I keep telling myself that I need to spend less time on here! 🙈

Yes, it is terrible. It's so hard to find one's original post when the page numbers no longer exist and posting a reply is much slower. How do I get out of this?

BoldBlueZebra · 26/05/2025 09:12

i thought my phone was broke FFS mumsnet. Thank you op for saving me from buying a new phone fyi hate it

NotAtMyAge · 29/05/2025 15:26

It's just happened to me today on the website and I too hate it. It makes the site basically unusable, especially as I have arthritis in my hands and find too much scrolling painful. What on earth were Mumsnet thinking to make such a change unasked?

BunnyLake · 30/05/2025 12:11

I’ve got this today and just queried it on an unrelated thread. Is it an MN thing? I hope not or I may have to stop coming on here, it was tedious beyond belief to keep scrolling indefinitely.

So are there no longer page numbers? 😱

NotAtMyAge · 30/05/2025 13:36

@BunnyLake

After messing around in my settings out of sheer frustration, I discovered yesterday afternoon that I could still get 50 posts to a page. Later I was able to change that back to 25 posts per page and this morning I'm still on that. Not sure whether what I did sorted everything or whether Mumsnet took me out of the infinite scrolling test group, but I'm just thankful to be back to normal. This is using the website on a laptop.

It’s one of the oddest changes MN has ever done. Completely non-sensical. It’s just good to be back to normal. 😊
