Has anyone used a online school rather then state for a child we are looking at one and husband is keen but I'm not sure. Does anyone have any experience of this.

Would be for secondary school

We used Khan Academy, but was a few years ago, you could try having this moved to the Home Ed board they are more likely to have experience of online schooling.

Have you done online schooling before? Who would carry the burden of organising and supervising it? Beyond online learning aspects, there is a real world out there and children need to interact and engage with it to build skills of all sorts. Who will organise that? Do all the driving around to activities and groups? My guess is your husband is keen because the one doing all the work will be you.

More context needed: what's the reason you're considering taking your child out of school? Are they struggling? being bullied? Poor school environment? Is there neurodiversity?

Who will manage the education elements around the schooling? Do you work? Do you or your husband have time to do it?

I think there is a place for online schooling in scenarios where children are struggling with mainstream or the school options are terrible but all things being equal it's rarely the best option. And it's going to have a big impact on your family life so you need to be sure if you can manage it.
