It’s even in my arms…I’m soooooo fucking tired but I can’t sleep because of this it’s driving me mad
i know why I have it, but it doesn’t make it any easier! Honestly feel like ripping my limbs off

My DH gets it in his legs, he has a magnesium cream which he rubs in when it happens and it seems to work. Have you tried that?

Colalola · 22/05/2025 02:11

Hi @SafeToUse, I take magnesium supplements in the evening, Clonazepam and cba oil so I don’t suppose an extra medication/cream could hurt! Which one do you recommend? Thank you Daffodil

I have to get up and have a walk / March around

ThatPeachMaker · 22/05/2025 02:22

look up the tying a sock to your foot method apparently works really well.

I'm awake because of shitty fibro pain in my legs (and so many other places) but I've a dog cooling mat under the covers and find that moving my legs on to it can ease the pain and restlessness sometimes. I'm on opioid painkillers which help quite a bit but lately nights are simply dreadful. Hope the cooling mat idea helps someone.

Sorry to bring the tone down but an orgasm helps mine when it’s really bad.

uncomfortablydumb60 · 22/05/2025 02:31

Cooling mat is a brilliant suggestion!! I have one in the cupboard as my Westie turned his nose up at it!
I’ve had a flexible ice pack on each knee as I have severe bursitis.
I had DS3 without so much as a paracetamol but this is worse
I’m Sorry you’re awake with jangling legs
i read Epsom salt baths can help, but I guess that’s a form of magnesium too

NimbleViewer · 22/05/2025 02:53

Gosh, this is me just now

AlexDrake72 · 22/05/2025 03:03

Yes awake with it every night 😩 mine is severe and I was on medication for it called Ropinirole which works wonders but sadly due to horrendous side effects I had to stop taking it. So I am back to wanting to chop my legs off, extreme I know but it drives me to the point of insanity.

Whataretalkingabout · 22/05/2025 03:04

I never knew this was a thing! Definitely have restless legs after a very busy day on my feet. I have back pain and am waiting for a hip replacement so I thought that was related?

Thanks for the suggestion to rake a magnesium supplement. I will try this!

Not being able to sleep when exhausted is so annoying. I hope everyone gets some relief and sleep soon.

Was coming here to say this! Really works if you want a quick solution.

MaggieBsBoat · 22/05/2025 03:36

Me!
Will invest in a cool mat they sound amazing.
I’d also invest in an orgasm but it would wake my DH up and lead to offers!

I had this very badly last month. I tried everything including magnesium, painkillers, warm baths, raising my legs, exercising etc. nothing worked. My mom said to take iron supplements for a few days and it would go away and it did! Apparently there’s a link between iron deficiency and restless legs

Elleherd · 22/05/2025 03:52

In extreme pain including in leg's which are very hot, especially feet,
Some useful ideas, thanks.

Firefly1987 · 22/05/2025 04:07

Oh I used to get this-was because I was anaemic though and after being on iron tablets for a while I don't get it anymore, unless I'm particularly anxious.

Colalola · 22/05/2025 13:06

Thanks for all the suggestions, knackered today! Lucky I was up though as I got a text at 2:30am saying someone was trying to use my bank card so every cloud and all that 😂 I am iron deficient, quite badly. My body doesn’t absorb it. I have weeks of just not being able to sleep and then other weeks where I have no probs. Weird! Can’t wait for tonight.. 🥲
