Anyone had severe lock jaw TMJ?

Would I be unreasonable to go to A&E?

(Sorry I don’t want to be that annoying should I go to A&E?)

Had TMJ for years. Have a mouth guard but it makes it worse. Have had Botox in past in my jaw and temples. Anxiety causes it 100%

Woke up yesterday with lock jaw. It’s not getting better. Used heat compress, massages, had cocodamol and ibuprofen, can’t open my mouth to eat so been sucking at soup from a spoon and sips of water.

It’s agony. It feels like the jaw joint is going to snap if I try and open my mouth properly.

I would feel like an idiot if I walked into A&E saying “I can’t open my mouth” but I don’t know what else to do. I’ve got a dentist appointment at the end of next month but can’t cope like this for a month.

I had dry needling from a physio and it really helped. It’s a bit like acupuncture

I would probably call 111 first.

You need to be able to eat!

I’m on hold to 111 dental now 🤞🏻

Hmm, not sure you need dental for TMJ. I had to see the oral surgery dept for mine.
