Hi I’m just after some words of encouragement or even support really, I’m on mat leave with a 1 month old and 3 year old boys and my husband works away mon-Fri he’s just started working away after his paternity leave and I’m feeling down about it. I have a great support network around but still makes me sad how I’ll be doing absolutely everything 5 days a week! Can anyone else relate? Feel as if I’m on my own

It's really tough in lots of ways. I did it with him away longer stretches but actually found it ok once I got into the routine. Also nobody else to clean up after, cook for, factor into plans etc. Although he changed job when they were about 3 so had it more in the baby period. Did you do this with your 3 year olds or is it new? I did loads of batch cooking (maybe he can sort this for you on the weekend) so always had easy healthy meals to reheat and planned days around nap times and got out to classes to see/chat to some other people. Plus I went to bed pretty much with the baby did to avoid getting too exhausted. Will you have all the kids all the time or have you got nursery for the oldest? Great that you have a good support network around you as well. I actually thought the hardest was not having someone to share the little things the baby did that only parents could really be excited by or interested in - What's app chat really helped for sharing that and feeling connected to my partner and he was able to reply during work reasonably often. Good luck and enjoy the sunny weather

my partner works away mon - fri, on the odd occasion he’s here in the week it winds me up 😂 I have a great routine in the week, cleaning up and washing is halved. I do love my own company though so I enjoy it.
