So u think it’s ok for u to make noise late at night, but not for her to make noise in the morning! U are reaping what u have sown, probably y the other neighbours moved.

dontunderstandpeople · 18/05/2025 16:51

I hardly think laughing at midnight justifies what the neighbour is doing 🙄 @Skybluepinky

Pancakeflipper · 18/05/2025 16:53

Are you keeping a diary of events and recording any thing you can as evidence?

murasaki · 18/05/2025 16:55

It's perfectly reasonable to watch Eurovision, it's not every day. It's not reasonable to act as the neighbour has. I'd ponder reporting her for harassment.

She said she and her son were laughing at Eurovision on the TV. That is normal noise in a house on a Saturday evening. Banging on the wall, using a drill and playing loud music in q bedroom at 6.30 on Sunday morning isn't normal behaviour.
OP if the noise at unreasonable times persists you can make a complaint your local authority . You should make a note of every time they are unreasonably noisy with the time and duration of the noise
If you search on gov.uk under noise complaint. It tells you how to make a complaint.

ilovesooty · 18/05/2025 16:59

If you want the council to act you'll have to log and submit incidents.

Not that it's relevant to this neighbour's behaviour but if your previous neighbour was involved in drug activity that doesn't sound too good either.

thank you all for the lovely replies last year we kept diary for asbo team they fitted noise machine to the wall but that was a failure,Why you ask becuase when the asbo team came to fit it she watched them come in with the equipment and it was to listen for 7 days only so she didnt do anything for 7 days.I know it was a waste of there time.Ive now been told to take my phone with me everytime i go into my own garden to catch her shouting vile things which ive got 1 recording of her,I was in our garden she seen me after she drove up on the path she seen me sat there went into her front garden and sang very loudly SCUM SCUM SCUM SCUM for 4 minutes ive got this recording. But just before christmas she hand wrote me a letter saying i need to stop sending police around and harassing her?

Yes, of course it's OK to bang on the walls, verbally abuse people and be an absolute shit show of a human being all because one heard a neighbour laugh at 11.30 on a Saturday night!

Which isn't actually the case as eurovision was last night and this neighbour has been a ballache for ages.

Twat!

MiloMinderbinder925 · 18/05/2025 17:32

If you have a housing officer, tell them about it. There should be a way of making complaints through the council.

Keep a diary of her behaviour and download a recording app (the noise app)to record the noise. Get CCTV and a video doorbell.

dontunderstandpeople · 18/05/2025 17:35

You need to keep pursuing it as it's very likely that she's breaking her contract. Keep a diary, record her and keep contacting the police and the council. Take a note of all crime numbers.

Don't communicate with her.

Tagyoureit · 18/05/2025 18:04

Yes, don't communicate and get as much evidence as you can, get some cameras if you can.

I honestly wish you the best sorting this as your home should be your haven not this.

GrouachMacbeth · 18/05/2025 18:10

At every instance of abuse call the police 101 and get an incident number.remind them disability is a protected characteristics and you feel this is a hate crime.
Are you recording? Can you save the recordings to folder on your computer?

Good luck, we are with you.
