My son and his friends are obsessed with wrestling (as was I as a child so I enjoy watching with him). WWE are touring in UK in August, I said I would get tickets for him and one friend, and me and my dad would take them as an early birthday present. DS is 7 (will be 8). All good.
Fast forward to today, tickets on sale, I queue up on two different sites ready to purchase at 10am. Cheapest tickets (not even GOOD seats) are £284 EACH, before ticket charges.
AIBU that this is insane. Have any parents had the same experience? Do tickets get cheaper closer to the date, should I hold out and not purchase yet or tell my son unfortunately we are not going.
For added information, I feel bad because,
- I can afford it, but on principle think it's ridiculous (I don't like wasting money)
- I went to Wrestlemania when I was younger and to some Wrestling matches in the UK. They are really wonderful experiences I look back fondly on.
- I said I would take him 😔 I've never gone back on anything before and he is a lovely boy.
So AIBU to think pricing is bonkers, any advice on whether pricing calms down nearer the event, or should I just buy the tickets with my eyes closed and cry at what I could have spent the money on.
