About choice of therapist?

Went through a horrendous time at work last year when I was forced out my job by a manager who sexually harassed me.

At the time, I had Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). It was helpful but I had it too early if that makes sense. The issue that brought me to CBT was still ongoing and unresolved and more ridiculous things were being done by my ex-employer as the appointments went on.

The therapist was very good and said I should return after a few months break, and revisit CBT if I felt I needed it. This was in December.

Fast forward to now and I’m more settled in life again. I followed her advice and enquired about CBT again. I have been allocated a new therapist from the same company.

AIBU to want the same therapist I had before? I felt like she was supportive and went above and beyond, but the new therapist seems a bit frosty and we don’t click as well as the previous one.

YANBU. A good therapeutic relationship is just as important as the therapy itself! X
